Eli Manning Officially Named Pretty Much The Greatest Human To Ever Play Football
"This is the greatest Manning I have ever been around" - Tony Dungy (probably)
Tonight a man will be named the Most Valuable Player of the NFL and tomorrow night 53 players will become Super Bowl champions. But none of them will best exemplify outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field, and in the community because that is the honor Eli Manning took home today when he won the Bart Starr Award, which is an award I'm pretty sure he was literally born to win since I think the Bart Starr Award is just a young Eli talking pigskin with Archie and Peyton.
Winning trophies for being better at a kids game than other grown men is nice, especially on the biggest stage like the two Super Bowl MVPs Eli Manning won during his illustrious career. But #somethings are bigger than sports like being an outstanding leader in the home and the community. And #somethings are even bigger than that like being an outstanding leader in the home, the community AND on the field, which again is the honor Eli was awarded today. Even the way Eli paused his family vacation to take a call from Bart Starr's wife exemplifies what being a great human is all about.
To be clear, this award should not to be confused with NFL Man of the Year, which Eli won three years ago with pretty much the most beloved player in the world.
There will be a lot of talk over the next five years about whether or not Eli Manning will get elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But considering he was already named the greatest man in the entire NFL as well as the best leader in the field, home, AND community, I am officially inducting Eli to the Human Hall of Fame that I just created it in my mind. Eli is a first ballot Human Hall of Famer and the only person that is in there and will ever be in there because I have closed the Hall for good in honor of Eli's greatness in all aspects of life (Tony Stark would have made it in the Hall if the events of Endgame happened in real life). The greatest gif ever has been updated to reflect this momentous occasion.
Thank you Eli for all your contributions as a human which makes much more of a difference in peoples' lives than what happens on the field.
Also see you in Canton in the short future after David Baker knocks on your door to tell you that you made the not nearly as impressive Pro Football Hall of Fame
Adding this one just because it is so goddamn breathtaking.
